Depart this
morning and enjoy all the sights of the Mystic Seaport
area. You'll initially visit and tour the U.S.S
Nautilus, the first nuclear powered submarine the
Nautilus was also the first submarine to sail under the
Artic Ice pack. Other subs are also available to visit.
Next head over to a nearby Mystic Seaport restaurant for
a delicious noontime luncheon. After lunch head over to
the Seaport. Founded in 1929, Mystic Seaport is our
country’s leading maritime museum, and proud guardian of
the largest collections of boats and sea-related
photography in the world. This private not-profit
educational institution annually serves over a million
visitors from around the globe, approximately 25,000
members from each of the 50 states and 30 foreign
countries, and boasts a volunteer corps of over 700
dedicated individuals who believe in the power of the
American maritime experience that connects us all. See
The Charles W. Morgan, built in 1841, is a
National Historic Landmark and America's last surviving
wooden whaler, Also visit the L. A. Dunton, a
fishing schooner built in 1921, she is the last
surviving example of the round-bow fishing vessel common
to New England. Visit many more sight today before
heading back to school this evening after a great day at
Mystic Seaport.
